This engaging Pi Day activity invites students to measure the circumference and diameter of 8 circular objects to discover the value of Pi! Students bring in circular objects from home – especially food items – making this activity both fun and interactive. After measuring, students divide the circumference by the diameter to uncover Pi, followed by a class discussion and a tasty treat as a celebration of Pi Day!

For this activity, you will need:

cloth measuring tape (I use these from Amazon)
circular objects

There is little to no prep required – especially if students bring in their own circular objects. It’s a fun and easy way to celebrate Pi Day!
