If you’re constantly wondering what product to create next, it might be time to stop thinking about individual resources and start thinking about product lines.
One of the biggest mistakes I see Teachers Pay Teachers sellers make is constantly creating products that don’t connect to one another. While there’s nothing wrong with having a variety of resources, building a collection around a common theme or resource type makes it much easier to grow your TPT store over time.
Build on What’s Already Working in Your TPT Store
Before brainstorming a brand-new idea, take a look at your best-selling resources.
Is there a product teachers keep buying? Could you create another version for a different topic, grade level, or season?
Your next product idea might already be sitting in your store!
Personally, I like creating product lines based on a resource type, like projects, task cards, or guided notes. Once teachers love a certain format, it’s much easier to expand that collection than to start from scratch every time.
AI Can Help You Get Started With Product Lines
This is one of my favorite ways to use AI. Instead of asking AI to create your resources, use it to help you plan.
You can upload your standards and ask AI to organize them into a logical sequence, upload your product data and ask it to identify patterns among your best seller, and brainstorm additional products that would naturally fit into an existing collection.
It won’t replace your expertise, but it can save you hours when you’re trying to figure out what to do next in your TPT store.
Product Lines Lead to Better Bundles on Teachers Pay Teachers
As your collection grows, creating bundles becomes much easier because your resources were designed to work together from the beginning.
Not only does this create more value for teachers, but it also gives you the opportunity to offer higher-priced products that can significantly increase your average sale.
