Starting a TPT store is an incredible way to earn extra income, but it shouldn’t be the only place you build your business. While Teachers Pay Teachers is a fantastic platform, relying on a single income stream can limit your long-term growth. As your store grows, it’s worth thinking about ways to diversify and create additional revenue sources.
Start with a Strong TPT Store Foundation
Before expanding, make sure you’ve built a solid foundation with your TPT store. That means creating quality resources, learning what sells, and consistently growing your store.
One of the best next steps is building an email list. An email list allows you to connect directly with your audience, share new resources, and generate sales without relying solely on TPT’s search algorithm. If you haven’t started one yet, I recommend listening to my recent podcast about why every TPT seller should start an email list before expanding their business.
Once you’ve built a successful TPT store and have systems in place to consistently create and market your resources, you’re in a great position to explore additional income streams.
Why Amazon KDP Makes Sense as the Next Step for Your Business
One of my favorite ways for TPT sellers to diversify is with Amazon KDP.
Educational workbooks are a natural fit because you’re already creating high-quality educational content. Instead of selling printable or digital resources, Amazon prints and ships physical workbooks directly to customers, and you earn a royalty on every sale. Since there are no upfront inventory costs, it’s a relatively low-risk way to create another stream of mostly passive income.
Let Your Teachers pay Teachers and Amazon Businesses Work Together
One of the biggest advantages of selling on Amazon KDP is that it can actually support the growth of your TPT business.
Inside your workbook, you can include a QR code or link back to your Teachers Pay Teachers store. If someone enjoys your workbook, they can easily discover your digital resources, creating a natural connection between the two platforms. Rather than competing with each other, your TPT store and KDP business can complement one another and help you reach even more educators.
Ready to Grow Beyond Your TPT Store?
Building a successful Teachers Pay Teachers store is an incredible accomplishment, but it doesn’t have to be your only income stream. By expanding into platforms like Amazon KDP, you can continue using the skills and resources you’ve already developed to reach even more teachers and students.
If you’re just getting started with TPT or you’re looking to grow your store, be sure to check out my free training, where I share the strategies I use to build and scale a successful TPT business.
And when you’re ready to diversify your income, my Teachers on KDP program will walk you through the entire process of creating and selling educational workbooks on Amazon – from choosing profitable topics to publishing books that can generate additional passive income.
Whether your goal is to grow your TPT store, add another income stream, or build a more sustainable teacher business, taking one step at a time can make a big difference.
