If you’ve ever dreamed of earning an income without leaving your house, you’re not alone. More teachers than ever are looking for flexible, work from home jobs that use their teaching skills, but without the long hours, stacks of grading, or endless meetings.
The good news is you don’t have to start from scratch or switch careers completely. There are tons of legitimate work from home teacher jobs that let you use your classroom experience, creativity, and communication skills, while giving you the flexibility you want and deserve.
Here are six of the best options to consider:
1. Sell Educational Resources on Teachers Pay Teachers (TPT)
If you’ve ever created a lesson, activity, or worksheet that your students loved, you already have something you can sell. Teachers Pay Teachers is one of the easiest ways for teachers to earn passive income by sharing classroom resources with other educators.
You can sell:
- Lesson plans and unit bundles
- Digital activities
- Classroom decor and posters
- Assessment tools or task cards

TPT is a great choice for long-term passive income – once you upload a product, it can continue earning for you while you sleep. If you want to learn more about how to get started, I have a free training that walks you through everything you need to know to start your own TPT store.
2. Becoming a Virtual Assistant
Teachers make some of the best virtual assistants because you already know how to organize, communicate, and keep tasks moving. You don’t need experience to begin and many teacherpreneurs and small business owners love hiring other teachers because they’re dependable and detail-oriented.
The work is usually simple and flexible, like answering emails, scheduling posts, creating basic graphics in Canva, or helping update someone’s website. It’s a very attainable starting point for working from home.

3. Remote Customer Success for EdTech Companies
If you love helping teachers and solving problems, this opportunity could be a great opportunity for you.
Educational Technology companies hire former teachers to:
- Train educators to use their tools
- Answer support questions
- Host onboarding calls
- Troubleshoot classroom tech
- Create tutorial videos or articles
These roles often come with full benefits, set hours, and no grading. Many also require “former classroom experience,” which gives teachers a huge advantage for these types of jobs.
4. Starting a Blog or YouTube Channel
Don’t worry… I’m not suggesting you become a full-time influencer.
Starting a blog or YouTube channel simply gives you a long-term way to share your knowledge and earn a little extra income over time.
Easy starter content includes:
- Short blog posts answering common parent questions
- Quick classroom management tips
- Simple how-to videos for parents
- Book recommendations
- Tutorials for teachers
Over time, your content can earn an income through:
- Ad revenue
- Affiliate links
- Digital downloads
You only need to post every week or two to start seeing traction, and everything you create continues working for you long after you hit “publish.”
5. Create an Online Course
Creating an online course is one of the most realistic work-from-home options for teachers because you’re already skilled at explaining things clearly and guiding people step-by-step.
You don’t need a big audience or fancy equipment. Many teachers start with a short workshop or mini-course on a topic that they already know well, like literacy strategies, math tips, classroom management, or even a hobby outside of teaching.
Platforms like Teachable, Thinkific, and Kajabi make it simple to upload your videos, add worksheets, and enroll students without dealing with complicated technology. If you would like my opinion, Kajabi is my favorite platform to use!
Once your online course is created, it can continue earning money long after you’ve created it, making it a great long-term income stream.
You Don’t Need a New Degree to Work From Home
None of these options require a new degree, a massive time commitment, or a complete lifestyle change. They’re realistic, attainable, and built on skills you already use every single day.
You can start small, try one at a time, and ease into a work-from-home routine that feels balanced rather than overwhelming.
