Whether you’re just starting your store or looking to scale, this post is packed with helpful tips, data insights, and encouragement from someone who’s been in your shoes.

My TPT Income Journey (2017 to Now)

I started my Teachers Pay Teachers store back in 2017 with zero experience and a handful of resources. That first month? I made just $6.75. But I kept uploading, learning, and improving. Here’s a quick snapshot of how my income grew over time:

  • 2017: $129 (just the last 3 months)
  • 2018: Nearly $5,000
  • 2019: $17,000
  • 2020: $41,000
  • 2021–2023: $54,000 to $57,000/year
  • 2025: Currently trending up after major store updates!

It wasn’t always a straight climb – my income dipped in recent years because I hadn’t updated my store in a while. But after revamping my products and optimizing for TPT SEO, things turned around fast.

What Helped Boost My Sales on TPT?

If you’re looking to increase your own TPT income, here are a few key strategies that made a big difference for me:

1. Consistently Uploading Quality Products

In the beginning, I focused on uploading 25 – 30 high-quality resources. I didn’t worry about marketing – I just got products up that solved a real problem for teachers.

2. Creating Product Lines and Bundles

Once I saw what was selling (like my geometry notes and worksheets), I created full product lines. Then I bundled them for higher-ticket offers—some bundles now sell for $150+!

3. Optimizing for Search and Conversion

I revamped my:

  • Titles and descriptions to include strong keywords
  • Covers and thumbnails to stop the scroll
  • Preview files and product descriptions to increase conversions

TPT even updated how previews display, so I made sure to refresh those too.

4. Tracking My Data

I regularly check my TPT dashboard to review:

  • Units sold
  • Views
  • Conversion rates
  • Top-performing products

This helps me know what’s working—and what needs tweaking.

5. Being Transparent with My Earnings

There’s an unspoken rule in the TPT world to not talk about income, but I believe in sharing the truth so you can see what’s possible. I don’t promise results, but I do share what’s worked for me.

Final Thoughts

To summarize, here’s what you can do to start increasing your TPT income:

  • Upload consistently: Aim for at least 25–30 solid resources.
  • Focus on quality over quantity: Good products sell themselves.
  • Don’t get distracted early on: Skip Instagram and email lists in the beginning.
  • Learn how to optimize your products: Keywords, covers, previews—it all matters.
