The Resource Academy, priced at $397, or $37 per month for 12 months (with lifetime access), caters to teachers looking to create and sell resources. Not just limited to selling – some teachers join to enhance their classroom materials. In a world where teachers often create their own materials due to various constraints, this course bridges the gap and equips educators with the skills they didn’t learn in college.
The Launch Strategy
The launch was framed around a four-day challenge, named the Resource Challenge. Each day of the challenge, participants received a video guiding them through creating a piece of a resource. This hands-on approach not only showcased the simplicity of resource creation but also set the tone for what the Resource Academy had to offer.
The Numbers
Let’s talk numbers – an email list of 23,000, complemented by an additional 6,000 from targeted Facebook ads, brought in 9,207 sign-ups for the challenge. The ad spend of $16,729.38 amplified the momentum, bringing in new leads and solidifying the launch’s foundation.
Two payment options were on the table – pay in full at $397 or a 12-month payment plan at $37 per month. Surprisingly, the 12-month plan had 272 takers, showcasing a thoughtful pricing strategy. An enticing $37 Chat GPT training upsell added another revenue stream, capturing the interest of 86 buyers.
Marketing Strategies
Engaging participants through a pop-up Facebook group during the challenge proved to be a smart move. A higher percentage of challenge sign-ups translating to Facebook group members kept the launch top of mind for potential buyers. Additionally, a contest within the confirmation email created a sense of urgency and excitement.

In the end, the June 2023 launch of the Resource Academy was a triumph, bringing $70,000 in seven days. Success came from an understanding of audience needs, strategic pricing, and creative marketing tactics.
