Are you ready to start a Teachers Pay Teachers store but feeling overwhelmed by the setup process? Don’t worry — you’re not alone! In this post, I’ll walk you through how to launch your TPT store in four super simple steps that will take you less than 10 minutes. Whether you’re a classroom teacher looking to earn extra income or someone who wants to share your educational resources with the world, this guide is the perfect starting point.
Let’s dive into the four steps to start your Teachers Pay Teachers journey today!
Step 1: Create a TPT Account
Before you can sell on TPT, you need to have a regular user account. If you’ve ever purchased from TeachersPayTeachers.com, you already have one! But if you’re brand new, simply go to the site and sign up using your name, email, and a password. This gives you access to browse and buy resources—but not sell (yet!).
Step 2: Become a TPT Seller
Once your account is created, it’s time to become a seller. Click on your avatar in the top right corner and select “Sell on TPT.” From there, you’ll be prompted to choose a seller plan:
- Basic Seller Plan ($29 one-time fee): Keep 55% of your earnings, plus a small transaction fee.
- Premium Seller Plan ($59.95/year): Keep 80% of your earnings, with fewer fees.
👉 My recommendation? Go for the premium plan if you’re serious about selling. It pays for itself quickly and encourages you to stay committed!
Step 3: Set Up Your Storefront
Now that you’re officially a seller, it’s time to customize your storefront! This includes:
- Uploading a store banner (Canva is great for this!)
- Adding a profile picture or logo
- Writing an About Me section to tell buyers what your store offers
- Linking your social media accounts (optional)
Keep it simple at first! Most buyers won’t see your storefront right away, but it’s still nice to make it visually appealing and informative.
Step 4: Upload Your First Product
