If you’ve ever wondered how to create a digital product that generates revenue, you’re in the right place. In this post, I’m sharing the exact steps I took to launch my own digital product and earn over $21,000 in just four months. What’s even better? I used a simple tool—Canva—to design and sell my product.

In this guide, I’ll walk you through the easiest way to create a digital product that makes money. Whether you’re a complete beginner or have some experience with digital products, you’ll find actionable tips to help you start creating your own.

Why Canva is the Best Tool for Beginners

When it comes to designing a digital product, you don’t need fancy design software. Canva is my go-to tool, and it’s easy to see why.

Why Canva?

  • Free and Accessible: Canva offers a free version with most of the features you need. If you want even more functionality, the Pro version is a great value.
  • User-Friendly: No design experience is required. Canva’s drag-and-drop features make it simple to create high-quality designs.
  • Templates: Canva provides hundreds of pre-designed templates that you can customize to fit your brand and style.

I used Canva to create my Hey Digital Product Playbook—a guide that helps people launch their own products. The process was simple, and I was able to create everything from the content to the layout with ease.

My Journey: Earning Over $21,000 with a Digital Product

In just four months, I made over $21,000 from my digital product, and I did it by following a system that’s scalable and easy to implement. Here’s the breakdown of how I achieved these results:

Breakdown of Earnings:

  • $3,500 from a payment plan offer
  • $5,900 from a $97 offer
  • $2,600 from a $197 offer
  • $10,000 from a launch promotion, including a bonus Instagram Kickstarter

How I Launched My Product

When I first launched the Hey Digital Product Playbook, I offered a bonus that gave people an extra incentive to purchase. This launch strategy helped me reach nearly $10,000 in sales right away.

If you’re just starting, this can sound overwhelming, but remember, I already had an established brand and email list. Building an audience takes time, so be patient, stay consistent, and start small.

How to Sell Your Digital Product on Autopilot

One of the best things about digital products is that they can be sold on autopilot. I’ve set up a system that continuously brings in sales, even when I’m not actively marketing my products.

Here are three funnels I use to sell my digital product:

1. Direct to Sales Page

I often drive traffic directly to my sales page using organic methods like Instagram reels. When I make a reel or post about my product, I connect it to a tool called MiniChat, which allows me to send people to my sales page directly through Instagram DMs. This is especially effective for lower-ticket products (under $50).

2. Freebie with Upsell

I also offer a freebie (a useful downloadable resource) that leads to an upsell. After someone signs up for the freebie, I present them with an offer to purchase my paid product. This method works well for higher-ticket items like my Hey Digital Product Playbook.

3. Email Funnel

After someone downloads a freebie, they’re added to my email list. I then send a series of emails that gradually introduce my paid product and encourage them to purchase. Email marketing is a powerful tool for nurturing leads and converting them into paying customers.

The Key to Success: Patience and Consistency

If you’re just starting out, you might be wondering how long it will take to see results. The truth is, the amount of time it takes to start earning money from your digital product will depend on several factors, such as your niche, your audience size, and the quality of your product.

I’ve been able to earn over $21,000 in just a few months, but that’s because I already had an established brand and an email list. If you’re starting from scratch, it may take time to grow your audience, but that’s completely normal. The most important thing is to keep going. Stay consistent, keep improving your product, and test different marketing strategies to see what works best for you.

Final Thoughts: Start Creating Today!

The easiest way to create a digital product that makes money is to take action now. You don’t need expensive software or years of experience. Tools like Canva make it simple to get started. Once you’ve created your digital product, use one (or more) of the sales funnels I mentioned to start selling on autopilot.

Creating digital products is a fantastic way to build an online income stream, and with the right approach, it can become a sustainable source of revenue for years to come.

Remember, everyone starts somewhere. Don’t compare your beginning to someone else’s middle. Keep learning, keep creating, and soon you’ll be able to make money from your own digital products.
